Live-country in LA 5-9th Dec?

Post by leppalam »

I will visit Los Angeles 5-9th december and would like to see _all_ the country related events on that time (I'm gonna drink a lot of beer and stay out aaallll night!).
I know Dale Watson is in Blue Cafe on 5th Dec and I try to get there, but just in case if I sleep it over due to jetlag, I would like to have some back-ups.
Recommended country bars?
Any recommended guitar shops?
Other country-related places to visit?

TRY: Web site for the LA Weekly magazine. I tried to post a clickable version of it, but couldn't get it to take. www.laweekly.com is it.
If you can, look in their calendar section for country music. But it's small, man, real small. Check the web site for Jack's Sugar Shack. R. Mack's Barndance there might be ok. It's on Tuesdays, I think. But if you're into some sort of purist type of country, and miss Watson, best hike over to Bakersfield.
Good luck.<p ALIGN=CENTER><FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b">[This message was edited by TomP on 11-24-99]</FONT></P><p ALIGN=CENTER><FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b">[This message was edited by TomP on 11-24-99]</FONT></P>

Hey, in Denmark the closest country-bar is in Sweden (meaning, in different country). So, I desperately need any country-music.

Flight takes something like 15 hours; my driving after such a travel session could put also your life in a danger...

I am now browsing a web-address you gave - thanks for the advice. See you in Blue Cafe!

You should probably go to Jack's Sugar Shack in Hollywood. It's on the west side of Vine Street just north of Hollywood Boulevard. On Tueasday night there will be plenty of country players there.
